Brock Lesnar Wins In UFC Bout
Brock Lesnar retained his title last night in Las Vegas as he pulled out a career-best effort to beat his opponent Shane Carwin at UFC 116.
Shane Carwin overwhelmed Lesnar in the first round, getting him on the ground and beating him for several minutes. Lesner was up against it and on the verge of losing his title.
Carwin, appeared to have this fight in the bag as he dominated Lesner but Lesnar survived and showed he had the desire to win.
Lesnar retained his championship with a submission in the second round, forcing Carwin to tap to an arm triangle choke. The crowd which included pals such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnsonand “Stone Cold” Steve Austin went into into a frenzy as Lesner won.

This fight was originally scheduled to happen in November 2009. If the fight did occur when originally planned, then its almost certain that Lesnar wou
ld not have won.
Back then Lesnar was a very sick man and, according to doctors, Lesnar fought at about 60 percent in 2009 when he was diagnosed with mononucleosis and diverticulitis. Due to the severe beating he took in the first round, the 2009 version of Lesner may not have recovered to win the fight.
Lesner was 100 percent in this fight and needed to be to overcome his ruthless opponent.
Lesner went on record as saying “It’s been a roller-coaster ride all over the place,”
“It’s been a crazy year. I’ve been through a lot. I wasn’t going home without this tonight. That’s for sure.”
In Carwin, he overcame a man with a huge punching power and a man who had come out on top in all 12 of the bouts he had by knockout. None of these fights had gone longer than the three minutes and 49 seconds.
Its not all negative for Carwin as he proved that if he uses the right tactics then Lesnar can be defeated. If Carwin gets another chance to fight Lesnar, he will most likely pace himself better. On the other had, if Carwin and Lesner do meet again then Lesner will no doubt be a stronger performer due to this fight.
