Sometimes instead of simply typing the word “degrees”, you want to include temperature or use the correct notation for angles. It is very useful to know how to insert the degrees sign. Still, I don’t see the’°’ icon clearly at a glance at the PC keyboard, so where can I actually find it?
There are a few easy ways to add this to your prose, and I’ll show you the steps you need.

Your keyboard must have a number pad for this technique to work. Desktop models are usually equipped with a number square to the right of the keyboard, which is also a feature of a 15.6-inch laptop.
Unfortunately, small laptops forget the number pad due to lack of space, so if you own one of these models, you should skip to the next section.
To insert a degree sign, hold down the ALT key and press the key while typing 0176. When you released the ALT key, the symbol seem . In some cases, you need to press the Num Lock key for this technique to work (so the light is shining).
Using the Symbols menu in Microsoft Word
If your PC has Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or a suitable word processor, you can use the Special Characters or Symbols menu to insert degree symbols.
In Word Insert , click on the tab at the top of the ribbon and the section will appear on the far right of the emblem screen. Clicking on this will display the most recently used collection of symbols
More symbol options at the bottom . Click on this and Word will open a grid full of different symbols you can use. Find the degree icon and click it to highlight your selection.
Immediately above , clicking the button at the bottom of the AutoCorrect box displays a description of the selected symbol, in this case called the degree symbol. If everything is OK , click the Insert button and you will see a degree symbol in the document.
Now when you open the emblem menu degree sign should appear in the recently used section so you don’t have to search again.
Another frequently requested symbol is the square meter symbol, so see the keyboard guide for how to get the square meter symbol.
